What is a lottery?
TheLotter is a website and app that lets you play over 50 different lotteries around the world.
The company launched in 2002 and reports that it has paid out more than $100 million in prizes to more than 5 million winners worldwide. TheLotter is an online lottery ticket purchasing service founded in 2002, initially focused on non-US markets. Most recently, TheLotter entered the US market as an authorized lottery courier service for customers in select states.
The main selling point behind TheLotter is convenience. Through TheLotter’s website and mobile apps, players can save trips to the store and purchase official lottery tickets anywhere within state lines.
TheLotter currently operates in Minnesota, Texas and Oregon, where it is authorized by state authorities to offer its services.
How does theLotter work?
- Sign up to the lottery for free.
- Choose to play one of 50+ lotteries from around the world.
- Select your lotto numbers and pay for your ticket.
- A lottery agent will then purchase a real ticket using your numbers and send you a scan of the ticket as proof.
- TheLotter acts as a lottery messenger service, which is another way of saying it buys tickets on your behalf.

- Visit TheLotter.com or launch the mobile app and log in to your account.
- Choose your game (Mega Millions, Powerball, Local Drawings, etc.)
- Choose your own numbers or let TheLotter choose randomly.
- Submit your order.
- If your ticket is a winner, the lotter notifies you after the draw and helps you claim the prize. If you win a big jackpot, they may have to fly you to a lottery country to collect your winnings.
After you submit your order, TheLotter sends agents to purchase official lottery tickets on your behalf from an authorized retailer. TheLotter will then scan and upload a copy of each ticket to your account for safekeeping.
If you have a winner, TheLotter will notify you and automatically credit the small winnings to your account. For larger prizes, TheLotter will set up a way for you to collect your winning ticket so you can claim your prize directly from the state lottery. TheLotter charges a convenience fee at the time of purchase but pays all prizes without commission. Anything you win from a ticket purchased through TheLotter is 100% yours.
Players can purchase one ticket at a time, play one or more lines per drawing, purchase entries into multiple draws at once, or set up ongoing subscriptions at a discount.
Is theLotter legit or a scam?
While you will find some complaints about Lotter (see below), my research shows that it is one of the most reliable and trustworthy ways to play the lottery online.
As of this writing, it has garnered nearly 2,000 reviews on TrustPilot and maintains an overall “Excellent” rating. TheLotter is an online lottery provider founded in 2002. It has a long tradition and offers a wide range of lotteries that players can try. The platform welcomes users from all over the world and offers an easy registration process and user-friendly interface. TheLotter is owned and operated by a company called Lotto Direct Limited, which is licensed and regulated by the Malta Gaming Authority. (You can verify this yourself on the MGA website.)
The MGA is an officially appointed body of the Government of Malta. This means that the Maltese government closely monitors the lottery to ensure that all their operations are legal and above board.
While preparing this review, I personally signed up for an account on theLotter and purchased a ticket for the EuroJackpot lottery.

How to use TheLotter?
Using TheLotter is a piece of cake. You can buy the desired lottery tickets by following these instructions.
- Register on the website.
- Choose from available lotteries.
- Decide how many tickets you want to buy and
- give order The provider will purchase the ticket on your behalf.
- You will receive a ticket scan that is saved to your account.
- The app will notify you if you win the lottery you played.
Personal experience at TheLotter
For many years, TheLotter has been my service provider for playing the online lottery. I haven’t won ‘big’ yet, but I’ll keep rolling the dice and get enough small wins to have fun. I thoroughly checked and trusted TheLotter.com security prior to joining. Its proprietary software means it’s an easy and safe place to play the online lottery. The best thing is the range of different lotteries – the big lotteries – that they offer.
As Simple as 1, 2, 3 at TheLotter
Buying lottery tickets with TheLotter is simple and easy as it involves only a few steps. This is probably one of the essential features to mention in this review of TheLotter.
The first step is to register an account. It’s pretty straightforward, and involves providing some personal details. The next step is to load your account with money. OK, you’re ready to play. I like to play lotteries that have multiple draws a week but focus on the same one over and over again. You can play your favorite numbers, choose numbers based on one of the systems discussed (wheeling and number popularity spreadsheet evaluation), or do a ‘quick pick’. Once you have purchased your tickets, you will receive a confirmation. via email. The same data will be available online. TheLotter.com will also send you a scanned copy of the ticket.
Customer support at TheLotter
TheLotter offers customer support via live chat and email (online form). It is important to note that the email does not go to your email address, but to your account at TheLotte also has its own app, available for Android and iOS devices.
Money at TheLotter
Lottery has several deposit and withdrawal options. These include MasterCard, Visa, Skrill, Sofort, Neteller, GiroPay, Paysafecard, Trustly, EPS, BankConnect, RapidTransfer, PSE, and Effect.
Now, let’s come to one of the most important parts of becoming a member – withdrawing all the money you have earned in the form of rewards. TheLotter is responsible for collecting the prize from the lottery operator and depositing it into your account. This money can be used to play the lottery again, or it can be withdrawn. Unused bonus credits are exempt, and cannot be withdrawn. Some of the withdrawal options that TheLotter supports include Visa, MasterCard, Skrill, Neteller and Bank Transfer. For example visa withdrawal processing days vary from one to three. There is no fee for payment processing. In case of bank transfer, there will be a fee which depends on the bank itself. This will apply to the number of days required to complete the withdrawal.
TheLotter Mobile App Review
TheLotter offers standalone iOS and Android apps for each state in which it operates.
For example, Texas players need to search for TheLotter Texas in the App Store to make sure they are getting the correct version. Alternatively, players from any location can visit TheLotter.com to find the appropriate download links for their locations.
The app’s homepage provides an overview of all draw games in your state, including current jackpots, time until the next drawing, and menu items to view other features and manage your account. Shoppers will find the app easy to use with step-by-step instructions for shopping and a simple navigation setup.
There are four steps involved in buying a lottery ticket through the mobile app:
- Log in and select your game.
- Select the number of lines you want to play.
- Choose your own or let TheLotter pick a random number.
- Submit and confirm your order.
Mobile App Features
Lottery players can download the mobile app from anywhere and use most features without signing up for an account or staying within the state boundaries offered by TheLotter.

Multi-Draw Purchases
A multi-draw purchase works like a limited subscription. Players select their game, select their numbers, and indicate how many consecutive drawings they would like to play. If you buy a multi-draw entry, you pay for the whole thing in advance and won’t incur any further charges after it ends.
TheLotter offers price discounts based on the number of drawings a player purchases first:
- 5 draws: 2.5% discount
- 10 draws: 3.5% discount
- 15 draws: 5% discount
- 25 draws: 7.5% discount
- 52 Draw: 10% discount
The Looter Texas
TheLotter has been offering its services in Texas since 2019 and buys tickets for various games on behalf of customers.
Currently, TheLotter Texas offers tickets for the following games:
- Mega Millions
- Lotto Texas
- Texas Two Steps
- Cash Five Texas
- Mega Millions: Jackpot only
- Lotto Texas Extra
According to state law, users must be 18 or older and physically located within state lines to register and play with TheLotter Texas.
TheLotter Oregon
TheLotter Oregon offers its services to users who are 18 years of age or older and physically located within state lines. Customers can order tickets for the following Oregon Lottery games.
- Powerball
- Mega Millions
- Mega Bucks
Although TheLotter is not officially affiliated with the Oregon Lottery, the state is aware of its operations and values the services the company provides to the state.
In a 2020 memo, Oregon Lottery Director Barry Peck acknowledged TheLotter’s contribution to state lottery sales.
TheLotter In-Depth Review: How to Save Money While Playing
TheLotter offers several ways to save money on your lottery play. First, if you pay in advance for the multi-draw package, you will get a good discount of up to 25% on your purchase. Next, if you take a subscription, meaning you play the same lottery in each draw but pay as you go, you’ll get free tickets! And finally, if you join a lottery syndicate, you get to play a lot of lines for very little. The good thing here is that you don’t need to depend on friends to set up a syndicate. TheLotter does everything in advance. All you have to do is buy your shares in the syndicate, and you’ll get your share of the rewards if you win.

An FAQ page on TheLotter’s website states that it obtained a legal opinion in Minnesota to confirm that its business model complies with state and federal laws. TheLotter is not formally affiliated with the Minnesota Lottery, but instead acts as a delivery service that purchases MN Lottery tickets on behalf of consumers.
